    Answer:    A member is defined in Article II Section 1 of the organization's Constitution as persons who are eighteen (18) years of age or older and have an interest in community theatre with its productions and related dramatic activities in the community. To join as a Member we first request that you attend a few meetings to get an understanding of how the organization operates. You will be received as a Guest at those meetings. Actual membership status then occurs with the payment of dues. As stated in the Constitution in Article III Section 1 - Membership shall determine the amount of dues. Annual dues, at this time are ten dollars ($10.00).

       Upon payment of dues new members will be handed a copy of the organization's Constitution and be given full rights as a member which includes making motions and voting on all matters. Under Article II Section 3, however, it states - No new members may vote for play selection or officers if they join during those times of year when the play selection process or the nomination process is already in progress. Any and all who meet those requirement are welcome.     Answer:    The Punxsutawney Theatre Arts Guild offers two(2) different kinds of donations. They are monetary donation and material donation.  

      
    MONETARY DONATION -- By contributing money at the beginning of every season during the Patrons Campaign you will receive a booklet of show tickets that can be used as you see fit during the theatre season. The catergories are as follows;

    Benefactor - (gift of $100.00 and up) you will receive 10 tickets 

    Sponsor - (gift of $60.00 - $99.00) you will receive 8 tickets

    Patron - ($45.00 minimum gift) you will receive 6 tickets

       All supporters from the previous year will be sent a mailing about the campaign. First time contributors can notify the Lobby staff of any show or go to the COMMENTS page and send us a message that you are interested.

    Answer: Theatregoers can purchase tickets for PTAG productions two (2) ways. You can either have tickets as a Season Ticket Holder or as a At Door Ticket. 

    • Season Ticket Holder  By becoming a monetary contributor of PTAG you will receive a ticket booklet at the beginning of the season. Those tickets can be used in any combination at the three (3) productions staged by the Guild. See HOW DO I ... Make a Donation for price structure.You can bypass the Box Office and go directly to an Usher waiting at the top of the House. These tickets are not valid at the Verna Leith Sawmill Theater.

    •  At Door Ticket  Tickets can be purchased at the Box Office every evening before a show. Box Office opens at 7:00pm with curtain at 7:30pm. As most shows are staged at the Punxsutawney Area Middle School Auditorium there is plenty of seating available. At door ticket prices as as follows.

    Adults - $9.00 for a play; $11.00 for a musical

    Seniors - $8.00 for a play; $9.00 for a musical

    Students - $5.00 for a play; $6.00 for a musical 

     Tickets for a PTAG performance at the Verna Leith Sawmill Theater must be purchased through the Sawmill Theater Box Office. Information on how to acquire tickets for that venue can be gotten on our LINKS page which will take you directly to the Sawmill Theater website. PTAG's Season Ticket and At Door Ticket are not valid at the Sawmill Theater.  

      



    Answer:    PTAG has an Advertising Campaign that runs at the beginning of each fiscal year. During this time a Guild representative will contact area businesses and other parties regarding placing advertising in the 1200 play programs that are printed for each theatre season. Your contribution advertises you as a supporter and helps defray costs for the Theater Guild.

    Ad sizes and prices are as follows: 

    * 1/4 page is $ 45.00

    * 1/2 page is $ 70.00

    * whole page is $ 130.00

    Answer:    All PTAG auditions are open to the public. Several weeks before projected perfromance dates all local media and this website will announce an offical Audition Notice. The notice will include particulars about the show with a brief synopsis, the number and gender of actors needed and the age ranges and/or singing ranges of each character. An auditioner should make sure that they will be available for nights of performance and the majority of rehearsals before considering the commitment.

       All auditioners will be taken before the director in the order received upon filling out an Audition Form. The form will list the person's personal information and experience and will be kept on file with the Guild. At the director's descretion each auditioner will be expected to read from provided material. Time may be given to look over the material or a cold reading may be asked for instead. The reading(s) will help the director judge vocal quality & volume as well as other factors. Auditioners may also be asked to do additional exercizes for the director. If the production is a musical each auditioner will also be asked to come prepared to sing a song of their choosing. This will help determine singing ability and vocal range. A pianist will be provided and singing to recorded music or without piano (a cappela) will not be permitted. 

       A few days after auditions are completed the director will contact each auditioner either by phone or letter on whether they have been cast. It is a possibility that a director may hold callbacks for a particular role. Although auditions are serious business for the Guild we try to make it them as stress-free and fun as possible. Once a first time auditioner goes through the process they find it easier to return again. We look forward to seeing newcomers try live theater.

    Answer:    The newsletter of the Punxsutawney Theatre Arts Guild is called Curtain Call and it is published bi-monthly. All Season Ticket Holders (Benefactors, Sponsors, Patrons) and Members will receive the publication automaticlly. 

       Others may also receive Curtain Call in their mailbox by going to this website's COMMENT page and sending us a complete mailable address or by giving the information to a member of the Lobby Staff at a Guild production. Curtain Call is free and has been distributed since 1990 and is still being offered as a hard copy alternative to this website. Enjoy PTAG via Curtain Call or this site or use both. Each have a slightly different take on all the latest Guild news.



    Answer:    At this time, the productions of PTAG take place in the Auditorium of the Punxsutawney Area Middle School due to long-lasting cooperation with the School Board. Also the Guild's summer production is performed at the Verna Leith Sawmill Theater in Cook Forest. Below are links to maps providing directoions to those two locations. Adequate parking and handicap access is provided at both facilities.

       Guild suppoters and the general public will be notified via the media and this website if locations change or our scheduled season or if additional productions, tours etc. are being staged in different facilities other than the ones listed.
