Title PTAG Presents "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" & The Fall of the House of Usher"

Author

When Guild director Jef Dinsmore learned he would have to man the duties for the Fall production this year  he thought it made logical sense to build a Halloween themed show. PTAG hadn't had one before and Irving?s title The Legend of Sleepy Hollow was the perfect choice. Since he could only find a manageable version as a One-Act he know that the Irving tale would be the headlining show and what he would accompany it with would come later. Joining him as director was Debra Dinsmore, his sister, and together they tackled the classic tale of schoolmaster Ichabod Crane and his encounter with the people of Tarry Town and the Headless Horseman that awaits through the church bridge.

Making it come to life proved challenging, but with theatrical wizardry and & an able cast the story took shape. Tim Cooper appears as Crane with Debra as Katrina Van Tassel and Seth Evans as Brom Bones. Both men are suitors for the affection of Katrina, but Brom as a few tricks up his sleeve to make sure he wins her heart. To help tell the story is Sierra Dinger, Karen Duffell, Lynn Duncan, Terry Fye, Marilyn Lotito, Jean Muth, Jessica Schidlmeier & Mollie Smith.

It seemed evident that if you were doing classic literary horror than Edgar Allan Poe had to be offered and sure enough a One-Act version of The Fall of The House Usher made perfect sense. The famed tale of psychological horror takes a cast of four to manifest the story. Doug Fye plays Usher with Tony Simmons playing his friend. He arrives at the house to learn something eerie is afoot. Also present is the maid, played by Laura Deet & sickly Madelaine by Ilona Fye. What awaits in the shadows for those at the Usher House? Come and see.

With detailed sets & costumes both shows take you right into each story, both of which have scripts lifted straight from their original source material. Add some chilling effects & imagery and a night of terror awaits. See You at the Show!
